Who we are:

Honoring the Past, Welcoming New Faces

Standing for Those Who Served

With a current total membership of over 130,000, RSA’s offer friendship, goodwill and fellowship.

The RSA is one of the world’s oldest ex-service organisations. It was formed in 1916 to care for the needs of soldiers returning from WW1 and to assist the families of those soldiers who lost their lives.

The NZRSA has a strong loyalty to the Crown, the nation, and the community.
The organisation supports personnel who have previously served or are currently serving in our Armed Forces , as well as sworn members of the New Zealand Police.

Honouring Heroes: ANZAC & Poppy Day

ANZAC Day – Lest We Forget
ANZAC Day is a time to honour the bravery and sacrifice of those who served. Every year, we come together in remembrance, gratitude, and unity to ensure their legacy lives on.

Observed on 25 April each year, Anzac Day is the biggest day for the Howick RSA. Members of the RSAs and the general public gather at Stockade Hill for the local Howick ceremony. Returned and Service personnel only are invited to attend the Clubrooms on Anzac Day for lunch and a time to remember.

Poppy Day – A Symbol of Remembrance
Poppy Day is our time to honour and support veterans and their families. Your support helps provide essential services for those who gave so much.

Observed on the Friday before Anzac Day, Poppy Day commemorates the memory of comrades who died serving their country, while providing the necessary funds to assist returned servicemen and women who are in need.
